36... is the magic number!

I survived! Not sure how, but I did. Not the trauma of being 36 (which actually isn't a trauma at all, don't really think or worry about my age), but the drinking binge of Saturday night.

Girlies came, girlies chatted, girlies LAUGHED and GIRLIES DRANK!! Well, four out of the seven of us drank, the others were either driving, pregnant or both. So we drank for them too. It was fun. (at the time).

We had 'party bags' - lovely wee boxes with very silly things inside, princess tiaras, Ben & Jerry's ice-cream (for those who read L's blog, YES we got the full fat stuff, ha ha serves the ungrateful bugger right). I even made them all do craft stuff, which curtailed the drinking for a while, and the eating and the talking come to think of it. The concentration was so funny to see. They were like kids in a sweet shop*. What were they making?? Well, everyone took a name and had to make a neat fold-out card for that person, so everybody would have a wee thing to take home with them that would make them feel a bit special. (That's if they remembered to take them home... ahem... you know who you are!!!). Generally, a good night. I enjoyed it. I also got lots of very lovely presents -

The next day:

bodies asleep on the sofa, red wine in the candles, glitter everywhere, empty bottles on the sideboard, nappy-filled nappy sacks trailed down the stairs, and vomit in the salad bowl

*This is good, because little do they know that I have plans to make them come and do scrapbooking with me, and that was a wee taster to see how they did. (well, they're always making me do stuff with them, it's their turn!)
