Update (by request)

... problem is I have nothing to update. Boring little life I have.

I am on holiday though. Too skint to go anywhere or do anything so we are at home doing 'stuff' to the house. To be perfectly fair Liam is doing 'stuff' to the house at a great rate of knots. I am trying to convince myself, and him, that I am being vaguely helpful by looking after the girls. Being on nappy duty, walking Holly to and from school etc. Unfortunately, this doesn't work so well when you arrange coffee with girl friends and come home 3 hrs later on the very day your oldest daughter comes down with Chicken pox (or pops as they are known in our house). Liam has taken to his bed. Exhausted and more than likely fed up with me. Can't blame him I suppose.

So, as mentioned above Holly has finally succumbed to the 'pox'. Hurray! Don't get me wrong, I don't normally wish illness on my children, but in this case it is such a horrible thing to get when you are older that it is MUCH better to get it when you are young. There has been a huge run of it in the village and every other child seems to have had except mine.

Conversation at Playgroup:

"Have Holly and Daisy had the chicken pox yet, Merriol?"
"Nooooo! And I have noted not one of you buggers have brought your diseased children round to my house to infect us!! What kind of community is this?"

he he...

Next day... Debs came round to 'borrow' our anti-histamine for her youngest who sprouted spots over night. Just as I handed her the bottle, Liam said...

"M, have you seen these spots behind Holly's ear?"

We weren't sure at first and they weren't anywhere else so I didn't get my hopes up. Took her up to school, and thankfully we were the first to arrive. Said

"Hi, think this is going to be a short visit. Do you think these are chicken pox?"

"hmmm... not sure... is that one in her hair line?"

Yup, there were more, and they had obviously been scratched since leaving the house. We came home.

She has been a bit off colour the last couple of days, and my friend who is a Dr predicted spots before the weekend. She didn't want to go to ballet last night and I didn't push it. She got up this morning and was in great form. So didn't suspect anything really. She's been great for the rest of the day. Just a bit spotty.
